10 climbers, including Nirmal Purja, missing after Pakistan avalanche
Ten climbers, including renowned Nepalese mountaineer Nirmal Purja, are missing following an avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan. Four bodies have been recovered. Search and rescue operations are underway, but have been hampered by poor weather conditions preventing helicopter takeoffs. A tracking device indicates Purja's location has shifted, offering a sliver of hope for rescuers. The group was at an altitude of approximately 7,000 meters when the avalanche struck.
