Supreme Court grants divorce to Omar Abdullah and Payal
The Supreme Court has granted a divorce to former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his estranged wife Payal Abdullah. A bench comprising Justices PS Narasimha and Alok Aradhe disposed of the appeal after Omar Abdullah's counsel, Kapil Sibal, informed the court that all disputes had been amicably resolved. The couple had been living separately since 2011, and their marriage took place 32 years prior. The court noted that both parties had "embraced freedom" by agreeing to dissolve their marriage.
