Sri Lanka Ex-Police Chief Sentenced to Death for 2019 Easter Bombings
A former Sri Lankan police chief has been sentenced to death in connection with the 2019 Easter Sunday bombings. The sentence was handed down for negligence related to the attacks. Sri Lanka has not carried out a death sentence since 1976. The former defence secretary was also sentenced to death in relation to the bombings.
