Gujarat issues red alert for Surat amid heavy rain warnings
Gujarat has issued a stay-indoors advisory for Surat as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) sounded a red alert for the city. Hundreds of residents have been evacuated. Schools and colleges in Gujarat will remain closed on the following day. Residents have been advised to remain alert.
