Bajaj Finserv enters reinsurance, reports 12% profit rise

Bajaj Finserv announced a 12% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for Q1 FY27, reaching ₹3,132 crore. Revenue from operations grew 19% to ₹42,037 crore. The company's board has approved a plan to enter the reinsurance business through a wholly owned subsidiary, pending regulatory approvals. This move makes Bajaj Finserv the third private player to enter the Indian reinsurance market in the past year. The board also approved issuing equity shares for its employee stock option scheme.
