Bombay High Court questions hygiene standards, littering culture
The Bombay High Court has quashed the suspension of a hotel license by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) over hygiene issues, stating "we are in India." The court also questioned why Indians adhere to cleanliness rules abroad but not within the country. In a separate but related matter, the court ordered four advocates to inspect the Mantralaya canteen alongside FDA officers, after the regulator claimed a 98% hygiene score. The court noted that inspection reports from the FDA canteen contradicted findings from an independent survey.
