Calcutta High Court Denies Urgent Hearing for Abhishek Banerjee's Foreign Travel Plea
The Calcutta High Court has refused to grant an urgent hearing to Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee's plea seeking permission to travel abroad for medical treatment. Banerjee had requested an early hearing, citing his planned overseas eye treatment. The court rejected his petition for a fast-tracked hearing on the matter. Separately, the Supreme Court dismissed a plea concerning the EWS income limit for private medical colleges, stating they cannot be compelled to charge government college fees without state subsidies.
