Census 2027 Self-Enumeration Phase Begins in Multiple Indian States
The first phase of India's 16th Census, focusing on self-enumeration, commenced on August 1 in West Bengal and Tripura. The exercise, which allows citizens to fill out forms online, will continue until August 15. Officials in West Bengal stated the process is simple, takes approximately 10 minutes, and is not mandatory. Similar self-enumeration exercises have also begun in Assam and Tamil Nadu.
