TISS Postpones Convocation with CJI as Chief Guest Amidst Protest Fears

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai postponed its convocation ceremony, scheduled for two days later, where Chief Justice Surya Kant was to be the chief guest. The institute cited "unforeseen circumstances" and the "best long-term interests of the institute" for the decision. However, affected students claimed that fears of protests led to the cancellation, with some having already incurred expenses on non-refundable travel and accommodation. This marks the third public event with the CJI as chief guest to be postponed in a week.
