Rivers swell across India due to heavy monsoon rains
Heavy monsoon rains have caused rivers to swell in several parts of India. The Godavari River's flood intensity is expected to increase, with a third flood warning in force at Bhadrachalam and a second warning level anticipated at Dowleswaram. In Odisha, 10 districts are on high alert as the Hirakud dam opened 22 gates to release water from the rising Mahanadi River. The Chief Minister conducted an aerial survey of the affected areas. In Kerala, heavy rains and landslides resulted in four deaths. Additionally, floodwaters inundated low-lying areas in Mulugu, prompting the relocation of 112 people.
