ISKCON to serve mid-day meals in Kolkata schools; eggs added

ISKCON has begun serving mid-day meals to schoolchildren in Kolkata through a new mega kitchen. The West Bengal government has partnered with ISKCON for this initiative, which is currently a pilot project in several schools. The menu will include eggs twice a week, a change reportedly made following student demand. State minister Suvendu Adhikari stated that ISKCON's tradition of serving pure vegetarian food would be respected and the government had no intention of altering its practices.
