India braces for heavy monsoon rains across 13 states
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across 13 states on August 2. Navbharat Times reported that the monsoon is expected to show intense activity, with specific warnings for Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and other regions. Forecasts indicate potential for heavy downpours in eastern Uttar Pradesh and scattered showers in western parts of the state. Uttarakhand has also received a yellow alert for heavy rain in six districts. Some reports suggest the IMD has advised staying indoors for the next five days due to the anticipated severe weather.
