India faces monsoon deficit, higher temperatures, and varied rainfall
India is projected to experience a monsoon deficit with higher temperatures due to a weakening monsoon in the second half of the season. While an El Niño poses a risk of below-normal rainfall, a positive Indian Ocean Dipole may offer some relief, particularly for southern India, potentially preventing a deficient monsoon phase. Some regions, like Surendrangar and Morbi, have already experienced heavy rain.
