NEET-PG 2026 reforms announced; NEET-UG counselling to start August 4
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2026 will feature significant changes including examination centres closer to candidates' homes, a single-shift exam, and a reduction in questions to 180. The Union Health Ministry stated these reforms aim for greater convenience and enhanced security, with Aadhaar and iris biometrics to strengthen registration. Meanwhile, NEET-UG counselling for All India Quota and state seats is scheduled to begin on August 4, with the academic session commencing September 8. Union Minister J.P. Nadda reviewed NEET-PG 2026 preparations and cautioned against paper leak rumours.
