India's renewable energy record boosts clean power, but coal's share falls
On July 13, India's solar and wind output exceeded 100 gigawatts for the first time, accounting for a record 42.8% of electricity supply. Coal India production rose 8.4% to 50.36 million tonnes in July, while offtake hit a record. The government data shows India's clean-energy generation has increased, but coal's share in power mix is at a 1-year low.
