Supreme Court Judge Questions Collegium System Transparency
Supreme Court Justice Ujjal Bhuiyan has raised concerns regarding the transparency of the Collegium system for judicial appointments. He stated that not disclosing reasons for selecting or rejecting candidates for judgeships constitutes injustice. Justice Bhuiyan argued that citizens have a right to know who their judges are, and opaque recommendations from the collegium risk incorrect appointments. He also commented that appointing judges without cause is detrimental to the judiciary.
