Western US and Europe face heatwaves and wildfires

Record-breaking heatwaves are impacting the western United States and parts of Europe, exacerbating wildfire risks. In Washington state, wildfires scorched over 250,000 acres, triggering mass evacuations and leaving approximately 60,000 people without power. Governor Bob Ferguson declared a statewide emergency and imposed a burn ban. Las Vegas forecast a high of 115°F (46°C), the hottest temperature of the year.
