Tamil Nadu renames Fact Check Unit, appoints fan club founder as chief
The Tamil Nadu government has renamed the state's Fact Check Unit as the Information Integrity Desk (IID). Guru, founder of an online Vijay fan club and the IT wing head for the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party, has been appointed to head this unit. The government has also dropped the use of 'CM's Thayumanavar Scheme' in its official communications.
