India Approves Minimal Chinese FDI Proposals in FY26

India approved only one Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) proposal from China, valued at ₹1 crore, during the fiscal year 2025-2026. In the same period, 13 FDI proposals from Hong Kong were approved. Overall, the government sanctioned 63 FDI proposals totaling ₹10,292.67 crore ($1.18 billion) in FY26, according to data from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
