Trump claims Iran seeks talks, Iran denies; tensions rise
Former U.S. President Donald Trump claimed on Truth Social that Iranian leaders were seeking negotiations with the United States behind closed doors, despite publicly denying any engagement. Trump also stated Iran faces "decapitation" if it does not strike a deal and warned the country would be "destroyed" if it did not negotiate. Meanwhile, Iran vowed a decisive response to "US aggression" in talks with Pakistan and Turkey. Iranian generals claimed missiles had already struck U.S. bases and warned of World War 3. A mock "Iran war participation trophy" appeared in New York, mocking Trump.
