Heavy rains cause floods and traffic disruptions in multiple Indian regions

Heavy rainfall has led to significant disruptions across various parts of India. In Kolkata, the city experienced waterlogging and traffic jams following intense showers. Similarly, Srinagar faced waterlogging and traffic congestion due to heavy rains. The Union Territory of Ladakh saw a cloudburst in Kargil, causing flash floods and cutting off roads, prompting relief operations by the army and police. Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir also reported cloudbursts in Batkoot and Awoora, resulting in flash floods. Separately, Assam experienced floods, and Sri Lanka reported widespread floods and mudslides triggered by heavy rain, leading to school closures and fatalities.
