India Increases Export Levies on Petrol, Diesel, and ATF

The Indian government has increased the export levy on petrol, diesel, and aviation turbine fuel (ATF). The windfall tax on petrol exports has been raised to ₹3.5 per litre from ₹2.5 per litre, effective August 3, 2026. These reviews of export duties have been conducted fortnightly since the West Asia conflict intensified in late March.
