Finance Minister Denies Plans to Alter Unified Pension Scheme

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated in Parliament that the government has no plans to change or replace the Unified Pension Scheme. Over 1.18 lakh central government employees and retirees have opted for this scheme. The Unified Pension Scheme, introduced as an option under the National Pension System, provides an assured monthly payout after retirement. Benefits such as gratuity and death gratuity have also been extended to employees under this scheme.
