WhatsApp pilots age verification in India for data protection compliance
WhatsApp has begun piloting an optional age verification feature for its users in India. This initiative is in preparation for the upcoming Digital Personal Data Protection Act. The company stated that user data will not be shared and that the verification process is voluntary. Some users reported experiencing an outage during the testing phase.
