Rahul Gandhi alleges RSS control over Sainik Schools; government denies
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has alleged that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) affiliated individuals are running Sainik Schools. He raised this issue in Parliament, stating that students were not involved in violence but that "goons" were sent to the homes of protesters. The government, through Defence Ministry sources and BJP leaders, has denied these allegations. Sources stated the selection process for schools under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model is transparent and involves multiple checks. A parliamentary committee has also sought evidence from the government regarding the matter. Gandhi also mentioned an event in Prayagraj focused on education and jobs.
