Rape Convict Asaram Granted Parole by Rajasthan High Court

The Rajasthan High Court has granted a 20-day parole to Asaram, a convicted rapist. The court's decision allows him to be released for this period, despite objections from the state government. The High Court stated that the state failed to justify its rejection of the parole request. Separately, the Supreme Court has allowed Asaram to engage a trained caregiver of his choice within prison, but denied him interim bail.
