Census Phase 2 Postponed, Online Forms May Be Partially Accepted
The second phase of the population census, initially scheduled for Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand starting September 1, has been postponed. The enumeration for the rest of the country is now anticipated to commence next year. Census authorities are considering a policy change to allow partially filled online forms for self-enumeration, a move intended to simplify the process for both respondents and enumerators. Previously, incomplete forms could not be submitted, which had discouraged self-enumeration.
