RBI Maintains Repo Rate at 5.25% Amid Global Headwinds
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has kept the repo rate unchanged at 5.25% for the third consecutive policy meeting. Governor Shaktikanta Das announced the Monetary Policy Committee's (MPC) decision, citing global economic uncertainties, including the West Asia crisis and its impact on supply chains and market volatility. The RBI also revised its GDP growth forecast for FY27 upwards to 6.7% and indicated a reduction in inflation expectations. This decision is expected to keep home loan Equated Monthly Installments (EMIs) stable.
