Tamil Nadu Budget presented, focusing on welfare, economy, and education
Tamil Nadu Finance Minister N. Marie Wilson presented the revised budget for 2026-27 in the Assembly. The budget includes a ₹300-crore habitation development scheme for Adi Dravidars and a 'Mannin Magal Thittam' to help women agricultural labourers become landowners. A 'Vetri Skill Training Scheme' aims to provide internships to 20,000 youth, with plans to expand the TN SPARK program to more schools. The government also announced an 'AI and innovation city' named 'Arivagam' and declared Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli as a 'Space Industrial Investment Zone'.
