Jharkhand student leader ends hunger strike after video call

Student leader Devendra Nath Mahto, protesting alleged irregularities in Jharkhand's JPSC and JSSC exams, ended his hunger strike on August 5, 2026, after a video call with Sonam Wangchuk. Mahto, who had been demonstrating for eight consecutive days in Ranchi, had previously stated he would only break his fast if Wangchuk arrived.
