India Faces Widespread Heavy Rainfall Warnings and Alerts
Multiple Indian states have received heavy rainfall warnings from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Madhya Pradesh is experiencing 18% less rainfall than normal, with 43 districts affected. Uttarakhand has been placed on high alert due to a 24-hour heavy rain warning, prompting the chief minister to instruct district magistrates to remain on alert. Uttar Pradesh has an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain in 12 districts and a yellow alert for 41 districts. Himachal Pradesh faces warnings of flash floods and landslides with a three-hour heavy rain alert. Other regions, including Chhattisgarh, Haryana's Gurugram, and Lucknow, are also under alerts for heavy rain, thunderstorms, and waterlogging.
