Seven Years Since Article 370 Abrogation: Modi Highlights Progress, Opposition Protests
Seven years after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have entered a new chapter of development and that constitutional rights have been extended to all citizens. Meanwhile, political leaders in Jammu and Kashmir, including Mehbooba Mufti, Omar Abdullah, and parties like the National Conference and Congress, marked the anniversary with protests. Mufti held a candle march in Srinagar the day before the anniversary, and parties planned demonstrations across all 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir on the anniversary itself. Some reports also mention unrest in Srinagar.
