SpaceX reports earnings, plans Starship launch, and Moon impact

SpaceX has reported its first quarterly earnings as a public company, with revenue increasing over 90 percent year-on-year and exceeding analyst expectations, though artificial intelligence costs impacted its stock. Elon Musk announced plans for the next Starship test flight to occur as soon as this month. Separately, a four-tonne piece of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, which had been adrift for 18 months after launching in January 2025, is reported to have crashed into the Moon at approximately 8,700 kmph. SpaceX's satellite and mobile ambitions are also noted to be impacting rivals and the US telecom market.
