Heavy Rains Cause Disruptions, School Holidays Declared in Parts of India
Several parts of India experienced heavy rainfall, leading to disruptions and the declaration of school holidays. Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 26.6 degrees Celsius, 1.3 notches below the season's average, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for the city. Roads in Alipurduar and Cooch Behar were submerged. Educational institutions in select taluks of four Kerala districts were closed on August 6 due to rain. In Ghaziabad, schools were announced to be closed from August 4 to August 12. Meanwhile, Odisha issued a crocodile alert in flood-hit Kendrapara near Bhitarkanika Park.
