RBI Maintains Repo Rate at 5.25%, Adjusts Growth and Inflation Forecasts
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has decided to keep the repo rate unchanged at 5.25%. The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) voted to maintain the status quo on the key lending rate. Alongside this decision, the RBI revised its economic growth forecast upwards for the fiscal year 2027 and projected a decrease in inflation for the same period. This decision comes amidst global economic uncertainties and a focus on cautious policy management.
