Google reshapes AI leadership, DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis changes role
Google has restructured its artificial intelligence leadership, with Demis Hassabis stepping down as CEO of DeepMind to become chief scientist. The move follows the departure of several key engineers, including Jeff Dean, who are leaving to start a new company. Two "star researchers" had previously left for rival AI firms. Hassabis will now focus on guiding Google's AI efforts across the company.
