Netanyahu rejects US-backed Gaza peace plan, demands Hamas disarmament
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he did not agree to a US-backed Gaza peace plan, asserting that Israeli troops would only leave Gaza after Hamas is completely disarmed. The plan, announced by US President Donald Trump, reportedly includes guarantees for Israeli troop withdrawal contingent on Hamas disarmament. Reports suggest Trump would be disappointed if Israel does not agree to the plan. Meanwhile, a Hamas negotiator stated that a deal to disarm was necessary to 'save Gaza'. Israeli strikes in Gaza reportedly left 19 dead.
