Karnataka SDPI Leader Jailed for 2015 Hate Speech on Cow Slaughter
Riyaz Farangipete, National General Secretary of the SDPI, has been sentenced to six months of simple imprisonment and fined ₹10,000 by the Principal Civil Judge and JMFC Court in Belthangady. The conviction is for a hate speech delivered on July 23, 2015, during a PFI protest. Farangipete's speech allegedly threatened public cow slaughter and beef sales. The case originated from remarks made near the Belthangady Taluk Office.
