Bombay High Court convicts Tarun Tejpal of rape, overturning acquittal
The Bombay High Court has convicted Tarun Tejpal, former editor of Tehelka magazine, of raping a former colleague. The court overturned a previous acquittal by a trial court in the 2013 case. The alleged incident occurred in November 2013 in a Goa hotel during a Tehelka event. Tejpal, 63, has stated he will appeal the conviction in the Supreme Court. Sentencing is to be announced separately. The conviction is under IPC Section 376.
