Maharashtra Bans Analogue Paneer for One Year Over Food Safety
The Maharashtra government has banned the sale of analogue paneer for one year due to food safety concerns. This decision follows reports that 35.4% of tested samples failed Food and Drug Administration (FDA) quality tests. The ban aims to protect consumers from adulteration and prioritize their safety over labelling violations. Analogue paneer, a cheaper substitute for traditional paneer, has seen a rise in popularity. The FDA chief, Tukaram Mundhe, has stated that violations could result in fines and jail time.
