Heavy Rains Cause Mudslides, Road Blockages Across India
Heavy monsoon rains have led to significant disruptions across India. In Kerala, minor mudslips occurred above the Kuthiran tunnels on NH 544, with officials stating there was no immediate threat to traffic. Uttarakhand reported 132 roads blocked due to rivers in spate. Delhi received heavy rain, prompting an orange alert from the IMD, while seven districts in Kerala were placed under a red alert. Separately, Typhoon Dolphin battered Japan, causing power outages, and was heading towards China, prompting port closures.
