Cabinet Approves ₹8,970 Crore Guwahati-Tezpur Highway Project in Assam

India's Union Cabinet has approved the development of the 135.87 km Guwahati-Tezpur Corridor of National Highway-15 in Assam. The project, with an estimated cost of ₹8,970 crore, includes the construction of five major bypasses totaling 58.7 km. These bypasses are intended to alleviate traffic congestion in densely populated areas along the route, including Baihata Chariali, Sipajhar, Kharupetia, Dekiajuli, and Tezpur.
