Bangladesh Outraged by India Hosting Ex-PM Hasina's Press Conference
Bangladesh has expressed outrage after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held a press conference in New Delhi, calling it an "affront to the sovereignty of Bangladesh" and an "insult" to those who died in the July uprising. Dhaka has warned of "likely ramifications" on bilateral ties and demanded India "clarify its policy." Hasina, who is convicted in Bangladesh, vowed to return to the country in December. Her son, Sajeeb Wazed, warned that Bangladesh is becoming "another Pakistan" and alleged that Pakistan's ISI has an "open hand" there. The fallout has included protests in Bangladesh, with an ex-cricket captain's home being petrol-bombed.
