India Mandates AI Content Labels, Cuts Takedown Time to 3 Hours
The Indian government has mandated that AI-generated content must be labelled and has reduced the deadline for social media platforms to remove unlawful content from 36 hours to 3 hours. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has proposed these changes to the IT rules. These new regulations apply to synthetic content and AI-generated material, requiring clear labelling.
