Kerala Floods Submerge Towns, Displace Thousands
Heavy rainfall has led to severe flooding in the Kottayam and Pathanamthitta districts of Kerala, submerging towns and forcing thousands to seek shelter. As of the latest reports, 12,063 people are housed in 139 relief camps in Kottayam, while Pathanamthitta accommodates 10,570 people from 3,331 families in 142 relief camps. Businesses have reportedly faced significant setbacks due to the submerged areas. Efforts to clean up and manage the aftermath are underway as floodwaters begin to recede.
