Former Minister K. Ponmudy Faces Arrest Warrant in Hate Speech Case
A Chennai court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against former Minister K. Ponmudy. The warrant was issued because he failed to appear for trial proceedings in a case alleging he made a speech promoting hatred against the Hindu religion. The case stems from remarks made at a DMK public meeting last year concerning Shaivism, Vaishnavism, and women. The court directed police to produce him by September 2.
