Calcutta High Court dismisses plea against Bengal's anti-goonda law
The Calcutta High Court has dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) challenging the West Bengal "Goonda" Act. The court deemed the plea premature, as the state government informed the court that the bill has not yet come into force. The PIL was filed before the law was officially enacted.
