Pakistan's ruling party leads in Kashmir vote despite boycott

Candidates backed by the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) party have won 24 out of 34 seats in the first two phases of voting in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. The election saw a boycott call from a banned group. One winning candidate, Rukhsar Ahmed, is reportedly out on bail in the UK related to a grooming case, and has a connection to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
