Supreme Court orders continued CBI probe into home loan fraud
The Supreme Court has stated that settling cases with a few homebuyers will not halt the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) probe into defaulting realtors involved in home loan subvention fraud. The court emphasized that builders cannot evade investigations by resolving issues with only a portion of buyers. The CBI has completed investigations in 18 out of 50 registered cases. The court also noted the involvement of bank officials in collusion with these builders and issued directions to expedite CBI probes and prosecution sanctions.
