Kerala school quiz sparks row over Savarkar's freedom fighter status

A school quiz in Kasaragod, Kerala, has ignited a political controversy after a question identified V.D. Savarkar as the freedom fighter who received the harshest punishment from the British. The quiz, a "Freedom Quiz" for LP students, reportedly sought to test historical knowledge. An "answer key" provided by the quiz identified Savarkar as the answer. Kerala Minister V. Sivankutty has summoned a report on the matter. The Left government, through Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, accused the UDF government of allowing the RSS to influence school children.
